Minor held for murder in Pune

The deceased, Santosh Murilder alias Bhau Tilak of Annabhau Sathenagar in Padmawati, was killed with a heavy object. A pedestrian saw his body lying in a pool of blood and raised an alarm.

The Sahakarnagar police on Monday arrested a 16-year-old boy studying in standard X in connection with the murder of a 32-year-old on Saturday night at the Padmawati area.

The deceased, Santosh Murilder alias Bhau Tilak of Annabhau Sathenagar in Padmawati, was killed with a heavy object. A pedestrian saw his body lying in a pool of blood and raised an alarm.

The assistant police inspector, Shashikant Khot, who is investigating the case, said, “Santosh had received severe injuries on face, head and chin. Police naik Rajendra Honrao received a tip-off that Santosh was drunk and lying on the road.

The minor’s foot accidentally hit the victim as he could not see him sleeping on the road due to darkness. Santosh started abusing him and later both got into a fight. The minor, in a fit of rage, hit him on the head with a tile and fled.”

Motorcyclist killed
An 18-year-old was killed on the spot after his motorcycle was hit from the rear by a speeding car in front of Fugewadi octroi post on Monday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Akshay Kishor Pardeshi of Pimpri.

According to the police, Akshay was working at a garment shop in the city. “On Monday afternoon, he was coming from home on his motorcycle. When he reached in front of Fugewadi octroi post, his motorcycle was hit by a speeding car resulting in his death,” a police official said.
