The members demanded action against the agency that has shouldered the responsibility of burning the hazardous solid waste.

Environment minister Deotale said the government has written to the Union defence minister and environment ministry on the issue. “The defence minister has told the government that the incineration cannot take place without the permission of the state government,” he said. “We have served a notice to MWML for an explanation.”

Deotale announced in the House that the government will initiate action against the agency in next 15 days.
