MNS leader held for rioting

MNS leader Ram Kadam and activist Nitin Patil had allegedly manhandled a police officer at a polling booth in Sarvoday School, Ghatkopar, on Tuesday.

Officials from the Ghatkopar police station arrested a MNS leader and another worker for rioting and deterring government officials from discharging their duties on Wednesday. MNS leader Ram Kadam and activist Nitin Patil had allegedly manhandled a police officer at a polling booth in Sarvoday School, Ghatkopar, on Tuesday.

Kadam, Patil and their supporters started to create a ruckus when a faulty EVM machine was being replaced. They got into a scuffle with the policemen when they tried to stop them. Kadam and his supporters alleged that the police was changing the machine on which votes were already caste and replacing it with a new one.

They were produced in the metropolitan magistrate court where MNS activists started to shout slogans. Kadam and Patil have been remanded in police custody till October 26.
