A committee of experts has been set up by the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) to study and give suggestions to government on various problems associated with growing cities.
"The state Congress should have a role to play in the government. As a reason we have set up a committee of experts, which would study about the problems that would arise in future and give suggestions to the government," MPCC president Manikrao Thakre told reporters here.
The committee would conduct studies on various issues, such as security, pollution, transport to name a few, he said.
"The cities like Nashik, Aurangabad are growing big day by day and they are bound to have problems of some or the other kind," Thakre said, adding that the committee would also make suggestions to the government.
Thakre however, refused to divulge names of the members in the committee and the time to submit the report.
