Mumbai: 3 teenagers drown near Chowpatty beach in Dadar

Three students from Unal Mill High School, Mahim died after they drowned in the sea near Chowpatty beach Shivaji Park in Dadar on Saturday morning at around 11.30am. A rescue operation was launched by the Fire Brigade, however, the victims did not survive.

However, the bodies were recovered. The three students have been identified as Bharat Hanumanta (13), Anup Yadav (16) and Rohit Yadav (15). 

Hanumanta was taken to the Bhabha Hospital in Bandra where he was declared dead while the two others Anup and Rohit were declared dead by doctors of the 108 ambulance. They were sent to KEM Hospital. 

A fire brigade official informed that one fire engine, one ambulance and one rescue boat team crew attended the emergency call. “A lifeguard had been posted at the Shivaji Park front sea shore as it has been declared dangerous due to the rocky sea shore,” said chief fire officer​ Prabhat Rahangdale.
