KidZania Mumbai will be the 14th operational centre of KidZania in the world as India joins countries like Chile, Indonesia, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, Portugal, South Korea, Thailand and United Arab Emirates.

KidZania, an entertainment centre for kids announced its entry in India just last November. The much awaited facility was finally launched on Thursday. It will cater to children from the age of 4 to 14 years by emulating the working of a real city and engaging kids in different adult role-plays.

The indoor park, on the 3rd floor of R City Mall, Ghatkopar West, is a city built to scale for children, complete with paved roads and cars, city buildings, recognisable establishments and a functioning economy. It features 60-plus real-world establishments (Bank, University, Fire Dept, Radio Station and many more) and 80-plus role-playing options (Pilot, Surgeon, Fashion Designer) to help children develop real life skills.

Unique to KidZania Mumbai, children can also experience one-of-a-kind establishments like the Bollywood Acting Academy, Pottery Studio, KalaShetra Art (Culture Club) and Dabbawala (boxed Lunch Delivery service).

The press conference was presided over by Sanjeev Kumar (CEO of KidZania Mumbai), Xavier Lopez Ancona (President & Global CEO of KidZania), Paras Chandaria (Director Comcraft group & Co-Promoter KidZania Mumbai) and Shah Rukh Khan (Actor and Co-Promoter KidZania Mumbai) who formally addressed the crowd on KidZania’s journey to Mumbai. Post this, the floor was open for questions and discussion.

After the Q&A, the sirens of a fire truck alarmed all those present. The dignitaries rushed to the fire truck, to the aid of the kids role-playing as fire fighters, to douse the ‘Hotel on Flames’ and thus the media and press got a firsthand experience of what the kids would experience in the city of KidZania.

“The launch required not just a unique concept but also precision in planning and execution," says Anshu Kothari-Girish, Partner, Think Events, the event management company.

A general concern of most parents at amusement park or educational centres is the safety of the child. But safety is ensured, the organisers claim. The parents get to usher the kids into the venue after which, the kids are taken to their various activities by supervisors or Zupervisers as they've been dubbed.

Parents grab lunch or coffee at the restaurant and café located in the mall itself.

The pricing table is as follows,

Additionally, the KidZania website (http://www.KidZania.com/) gives you the chance to check out the different packages available depending on the age of the child as well as the flexibility to plan when they would like to schedule their visit by allowing them to check a calendar and book accordingly.
