South African city of Cape Town was the cheapest city while by Sharm-el-Sheikh in Egypt the second best. France’s capital Paris is the most expensive city for travellers in terms of room service, while Russia capital Moscow ranks second.

The survey done by TripAdvisor was based on parameters for rates in Indian currencies for room services in four star hotels.

“While we bear in mind the cost of a room for a night during our travel, we often forget to account for incidentals incurred at the hotel for services like in-room dining and laundry.

The cost comparison of these popular items from hotels around the world gives an overview of how far their budget can take them,” Nikhil Ganju, country manager of TripAdvisor (India), said.

As per the survey, a club sandwich costs Rs395.20 in Mumbai while in Moscow the sandwich can cost you as much as Rs1,161.69. Similarly, a bottle of water in Mumbai  is available for Rs112 while in Moscow it is Rs353.37.
