The work has begun and a part of the platform — towards the Dadar end — has been barricaded. Here the piling work shall begin, and pillars will be put up. This is right next to the existing sloped approach of the FOB that connects the Delisle road over the bridge that has been closed down for the public from July 24. The other end of this FOB will come up on the east end.

The Western Railway authorities have demolished old rail buildings which were more like a storehouse. Even now machines can be seen stored inside these buildings. These portions too have been barricaded. Sources said that they are aiming to finish this new FOB by March 2019.
