Mumbai restaurant fire: Maharashtra CM Fadnavis asks BMC commissioner to take review

The grieving parents of 19-year-old Sarjeet Shaikh, who died in the blast, at Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar on Friday.

Eight persons, including seven college students, were charred to death when a blaze broke out in a hotel in suburban Kurla on Friday.

Expressing grief at the Kurla fire incident which claimed 8 lives, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said he has instructed the BMC commissioner Ajoy Mehta to take immediate review to avoid such incidents in future. He also directed that strict action be taken against those responsible.

"Saddened by the Kurla fire incident. Instructed BMC commissioner to take immediate review to avoid such incidents in future and also asked for strict action against the responsible," Fadnavis tweeted.
