Seniors explain to the students what should be written in the form and also help them fill up their form sometimes.

An initiative of the BMM students of the college, Mediatheque Help aids freshers in filling up forms and verify the documents needed during admissions.

To lessen the burden of admissions, mass media students of SK Somaiya College have voluntarily extended a helping hand to guide the freshers taking admission in their college this year.

Mediatheque Help, an initiative started by the BMM students of the college, is helping the freshers fill up forms and verify the documents needed during admissions. This year, over 30 volunteers from the second and third year classes of the BMM department have volunteered for the initiative. Kunal Parmar, one of them, said: "This is the third year of the initiative. Like every year, this year too we are helping the newcomers and the in-house students to solve their confusions about the process and decrease the stress of their parents. We make sure that the students are satisfied and leave the college premises without any doubts regarding admission."

The volunteers have extended their help to the students seeking admission in any of the degree college courses. The admission process, which started on June 15, will conclude on July 4.

Another volunteer Siddhi Powale, a third year student, said: "During the time we were being admitted, there were fewer volunteers. But every year, the number of volunteers has been increasing. We explain to the students what should be written and sometimes we also fill up their form ourselves. They have a lot of confusion in their mind, especially the students coming from other states."

The freshers, meanwhile, have welcomed the help of the seniors. Talking about how the initiative is helping the freshers, Komal Yele, who came to get admission in the BBI course, said: "I was facing a problem regarding payment of the admission fees. One of the volunteers guided me, which helped clear my doubts."

Dhruti Rupareliya (18), who was enrolling herself in the BSc stream, said: "We did not expect the senior students to voluntarily guide us. It is a good initiative. It is helping us submit an error free form and complete the whole process in a systematic way."
