Mumbai: Smoke, fire in train scares commuters in Dadar

Dadar is one of the most crowded stations in Mumbai.

Thousands of commuters at Dadar station panicked after a CST-Titwala train came into platform number 4 with fire sparks and smoke emanating from the roof of one of the coaches. The incident happened around 5:50pm.

The incident happened around 5:50pm. According to railway officials, the pentograph of compartment CR 2187 B caught fire. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) staff patrolling Dadar station extinguished the fire, said officials. The train was taken to Kurla Carshed for inspection and repairs at 6:13pm .No one was injured in the incident.
