Mrittika Sen, the Mumbai topper in the CBSE 12th standard exams, has also topped the country, along with Tanvi Aggarwal from Faridabad.

Sen’s and Aggarwal’s 98.4% were the highest after the results for Delhi, Guwahati, and Allahabad were posted on the board’s website on Friday.

Both are, however, from different streams. Sen, a student of Rajhans Vidyalay, was from the science stream and Aggarwal of Apeejay School was from the commerce stream.

It was celebration time once again at Sen’s Goregaon flat. Relatives gathered at her house with flowers and sweets. “I can’t believe I am a country-topper,” she said. After spending most of her vacation in studying for engineering entrance exams, she now wanted to relax.

“My real vacation will start now. I am eagerly waiting for the movie Angels and Demons. I want to watch the first show on the first day.”

This year, 637,578 students — 264,248 girls and 373,330 boys — took the exams.
