Several commuters took to travelling by the road following delayed and cancelled CR services on Friday. This resulted in congestions on major arterial roads like Eastern Express Highway (EEH), Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Road.
According to the officials, traffic at EEH, LBS Marg was slow. “This could also be due to CR services being cancelled along with Metro barricades on LBS Marg at several stretches. Also, it being a Friday, there is usually heavy traffic as many move in or move out for weekend,” said a traffic official.
Heavy traffic was also seen on JVLR through out the day on Jogeshwari-bound lane, which had a cascading effect resulting in traffic jam near Jogeshwari on Western Express Highway. The WEH already witnesses heavy traffic 24/7 due to the ongoing Metro works.
