Jaipuriar School, Sanpada, is organising the city round of Sudha All India Inter-School Crossword Contest 2013, on November 28, to commemorate the year of crossword.

Students from around 20 schools across Mumbai and Navi Mumbai are expected to participate.

The event is part of the mega event where of each region will participate in the final to be held in New Delhi on December 14. “The idea has been mooted by the eminent professionals hailing from Bihar to make the students realise that Crosswords are not just the maze of incoherent and meaningless words, but, are in fact, one of the important tools of sharpening and chiselling the minds of people of all ages to become masters of English language,” said a member of the organising committee.

The event is being jointly organised by Sudha Dairy, CBSE and Jaipuriar School.

According to the organiser, the event is likely to have the presence of eminent personalities from educational and political arena.

“The entire event will be of 3-hour duration. The programme will include Conduct of the Crossword Contest, cultural show, result declaration and award ceremony. The winning team will be declared as City Champions and will be selected for the nationals,” said a faculty of the school.
