Civic activist, Vijay Kumbhar, has demanded that the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) should make available documents related to the deletion of the public/semi-public zone (PSPZ) of a prime plot of land adjacent to the National Chemical Laboratory (NCL).

In a letter written recently to municipal commissioner, Mahesh Zagade, Kumbhar had said that as per the government’s order it was necessary for the PMC to furnish all documents related to the decision of the state government to delete the PSPZ.

The decision of the urban development department of the state government to delete PSPZ of the 2.2 acre-plot made it possible for the land owners to develop it commercially. The decision was taken following a request by the land owner and the director of the NCL. He asked whether the state government had questioned the PMC about the deletion of the PSPZ on the plot.

He has also asked whether approval of the authority concerned was taken to allow the deletion of the zone and who in the PMC was authorised to delete the zone in the DP.

He demanded that the PMC should answer these questions and furnish all documents to clear the doubts from public mind.
