NMMC becomes first civic body to start CBSE curriculum in its schools

In order to provide quality education in the city and also to cater to students from every section of the society, the civic body started the CBSE curriculum in its schools.

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has become the first civic body in the state to start Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) medium schools. The civic body started two schools on Saturday at Koparkhairane and Nerul in Navi Mumbai

In order to provide quality education in the city and also to cater to students from every section of the society, the civic body started the CBSE curriculum in its schools.

"The need for schools with a central curriculum was felt in civic-run schools and this is just the beginning," said Jaywant Sutar, Mayor of NMMC.

Municipal Commissioner Dr Ramaswamy N said that corporation is committed to provide quality education to all sections of the society. "The civic body will provide necessary training to teachers to maintain the quality of education," he added. He also appealed to parents that they should be aware of their responsibilities and ensure an overall progress of their child.

On the first day, 20 boys and 30 girls were given admission into first standard. "We have also provided all educational supplies to students," said Sandeep Sangwe, education officer of NMMC.
