Veer, Vijay Galani’s big-budget period drama starring Salman Khan, Mithun Chakraborty, Jackie Shroff and Sohail Khan, was to be shot in Pune starting Monday. However, the swine flu scare resulted in the shoot to be cancelled.

The unit was all set to leave on Monday afternoon when producer Galani took the decision to call off the trip. Dharma Productions took a similar call to postpone the filming of their Kurbaan earlier this week.

“A few of us sat together and felt that it would be unwise to go ahead with the shoot. After all it meant 150 people, including cast and crew, shooting under immense stress,” said Galani.

Salman, Sohail, Jackie and Puru Raj Kumar were supposed to participate in scenes to be shot on a college campus under the direction of Anil Sharma, following which 95% of the film’s shoot would be complete.

Galani is now looking to shoot the sequences in Mumbai. “I am trying to get a similar location here, but it will take a day or two. It may be an inconvenience, but the safety of my cast and technicians is of higher importance,” said Galani, adding that all the actors, including Salman, have agreed to shoot in on a new location later this week.
