A Navi Mumbai resident and Computer Science engineering student from Sangli’s Walchand College of Engineering has Deepak Ahire has bagged a job offer of Rs 37 lakh per annum from US tech giant Microsoft. This is the highest package offered by any company in Maharashtra (except IIT Bombay and ICT Mumbai).
Son of assistant executive engineer in CIDCO, Ahire wants to pursue career in Machine Learning and research.
Ahire said, “I was preparing for interviews for big companies like Google, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft since two and half year. I was concentrating on programing and coding. I never expected to get job offer from Mircrosoft. My father has always guided me in my career. Keeping basics clear is very important for one to be in this field.”
Ahire’s batchmate and son of an auto rickshaw driver, Omkar Jadhav too, secured an offer from Microsoft during campus placement. The two students from the computer science engineering will be completing their degrees from the college this year.
Interestingly Jadhav (20) has also received an offer of Rs 29.37 lakh per annum from Direct-i and an offer of Rs 11 Lakhs from Barcalays. Jadhav plans to pursue his career in artificial intelligence.
Jadhav said, “The interview rounds vary from student to student. I found Direct-i company’s interview the toughest. I am very happy to bag Microsoft job offer. My father Sanjay who drives auto rickshaw has always encouraged me to be engineer and concentrate in my studies. He never forced me to work and complete my education. Today he is very happy to know about my success.”
