PUNE: Two foreign photographers covering Hollywood couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's film shoot allegedly lost digital cameras and lenses worth Rs four lakh outside the five-star hotel where the stars are staying.

Steven Edward Alexander and Raymond Philip, both London-based photographers, were sleeping on the pavement outside the hotel in the wee hours when the theft occurred, Inspector R V Mohite of Bundgarden police station quoted their complaint as saying.

Alexander, another photographer from London and a friend of the two photo-journalists, said the theft was surprising because a police patrol van was stationed outside the hotel.

Since the Hollywood couple's arrival here with their three children on October five for a month-long shooting schedule for the film "A Mighty Heart", a horde of mediamen has laid a virtual siege to the hotel where they are staying.

This has led to tension between the bodyguards of the stars and media personnel. One bodyguard had on October seven manhandled a British photographer outside the hotel and a foreign news agency cameraman was allegedly assaulted on October 13.

The film, for which shooting began here on October nine, is based on a book by Pearl's widow Marianne that centers round his abduction and killing by militants in Pakistan in 2002. Angelina plays Marianne in the film produced by Andrew Eaton and Pitt.
