Plumber axes man to death; walks into Thane police station to confess

Accused Raju Rajareddy Rathod himself informed the police last night about hacking a youth identified as Vishal Purushottam Patil following which they booked him under Section 302.

Cops at the Kalwa police station were baffled when a 26-year-old plumber walked in with a blood-bathed axe and confessed to have killed a young man near the graveyard here.

After the FIR, police team rushed to the graveyard and found Patil lying there in a pool of blood.

The police took charge of the body and sent it for postmortem to the Thane civil hospital and arrested the plumber on charges of murder.

The motive behind the killing was still not known, police said and added the Kalwa police were still interrogating the alleged accused.
