MUMBAI: Rahul Mahajan had made a big splash by “doing the drugs” in his late father’s, BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, 7 Safdarjung Road residence in Delhi.
But on Tuesday, he made a quiet return to the city after being granted permission by Delhi High Court.
Looking a little jaded upon his arrival by a Jet Airways flight, Rahul Mahajan said, “I am happy to be back in Mumbai.”
He was accompanied by fiancee Shweta Singh and mother Rekha.
His sister Poonam and nephew Aadya had gone to receive the three at the Santacruz airport.
In a brief interaction with reporters, Rahul said that the first thing he wanted to do was to seek his grandmother’s blessings “now that I have got engaged”. He said that politics was not in his mind right now.
“I am taking a plunge, but not into politics. My marriage (which is scheduled to take place on August 29) and my families are my immediate priorities,” he said.
Asked what he felt after the unsavoury experience in Delhi, Rahul said, “It was a chastening experience.”
