Postmortem report of Japanese national found dead in Mumbai hotel inconclusive: Police

Toshi Yukai Matsueara, 41, who worked as chief of export sales for Japan-based Nikuni Company Ltd which manufactures industrial pumps, was found dead in his room in Hotel Intercontinental yesterday.

The postmortem report of the Japanese national who was found dead at a high-end hotel in suburban Andheri, was inconclusive, so his viscera had been sent to the forensic laboratory, police said today.

The doctors at Cooper Hospital kept their 'opinion reserved' in the postmortem report of Toshi Matsueara, said Dilip Patil, senior inspector at Sahar Airport police station.

"The preliminary probe suggests no foul play. His viscera was sent to forensic laboratory for examination," Patil said.

Japanese consulate and family of the deceased were informed about his death and the body is yet to be handed over to his family members, who are expected to arrive here soon, he said.
