President’s visit to Mumbai to put brakes on city traffic

Patil will be devoting a large part of her visit to the platinum jubilee celebrations of the state legislature.

The traffic police department has issued traffic restrictions for president Pratibha Patil’s visit to the city between October 16 and 19. Patil will be devoting a large part of her visit to the platinum jubilee celebrations of the state legislature. 

The following roads will be closed for vehicular traffic from 8am to 10pm, except for VVIP vehicles: Barrister R Patel Marg from D Tata Rd (Genda Point) to Free Press Circle; Free Press Marg from Mantralaya junction to Free Press House; Ramnath Goenka Marg from Vinay K Shah Marg junction to Vidhan Bhavan lane junction; Vidhan Bhavan lane junction of Air India building to New Administration building junction; D Tata Road from Air India Building to NCPA dead end; Jamnalal Bajaj Marg from Usha Mehta Chowk to Dalamal House; Madam Cama Road from Air India building junction to Maharshi Karve Road (Godrej junction).  

Motorists can use Veer Nariman Road or Dinshaw Wachha Road, Maharshi Karve Road to travel to their destination.

Parking for all vehicles will be prohibited from 8am to 10pm on following roads: Ramnath Goenka Marg from Vinay K Shah Marg junction to Vidhan Bhavan lane junction; Vidhan Bhavan Lane from Air India building junction to New Administration building junction; Free Press Journal Marg from Mantralaya junction to Free Press House building; D Tata Rd from Air India building junction to NCPA dead end; Jamnalal Bajaj Marg from Usha Mehta Chowk junction to Dalamal House; Vinay K Shah Marg from D Tata Rd junction to Jamnalal Bajaj Marg junction; VV Rao Road from the junction of Free Press Marg to Sarang building junction; Madam Cama Rd from Air India building junction to Maharshi Karve Rd (Godrej junction).

Pay & Park has been cancelled at: Jamnalal Bajaj Marg; Vinay K Shah Marg; NCPA Lane; D Tate Rd; Vidhan Bhavan lane; Jeevan Veema Marg; Free Press Journal Marg; Ramnath Goenka Marg.
