Vegetable vendors have said they will continue to strike until demands of loan waiver and remunerative prices for agriculture produce are met

Farmers started the indefinite strike after talks with the government failed

With farmer bodies across Maharashtra starting their indefinite strike from Thursday, DNA tracks vegetable markets across the city to see the impact on vegetable prices in neighbourhoods. While vegetable vendors said that there was no impact on prices on Thursday, they said the impact, if any, would be felt on prices from Friday onwards depending on supply. Farmers have been demanding a loan waiver, implementation of MS Swaminathan Committee recommendations, and better remuneration for their produce and milk among others. They started the indefinite strike after talks with the government failed.
