The developer had submitted a letter to the civic body on October 25 surrendering the building. As the developer has submitted the letter before the due date, the PMC has to take it over.

The Supreme Court in its order on October 12 had specified the steps to be taken about the building.

Vyas Constructions has said in the letter, “As observed in the judgement of the Supreme Court, we are ready to offer the building to the PMC for use as a primary school.’’

The PMC’s legal advisor, Manjusha Idhate, said the civic body will take over the building at the earliest as per the order of the court. Civic officials made it clear that the building will be used for a primary school.

The controversial Sun Dew Apartments building on  Prabhat Road built by the construction company ran into problems since it came up at a plot of land which was reserved for a primary school.
