The Mundhwa police have booked the manager of Solaris Club, party organisers and lifeguards for negligence on September 4, when Siddharth Dilip Agarwal (22) drowned in a swimming pool at the club on Koregaon Park Road in Mundhwa.

The victim’s mother, Kiran Dilip Agarwal, lodged a complaint at Mundhwa police station on Tuesday. The police registered the case under section 304 (a) (Causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

The police said Siddharth and his friends organised a get-together at the club. Siddharth entered the pool without safety measures. None of the club officials provided safety measures. Lifeguards were absent.

Pressurising witness: one held A youth was nabbed on the district court premises on Tuesday for attempting to intimidate the prime witness in the murder case of chairman of the Lonavla Municipal Council.

He was identified as Ahmed Sikandar Shaikh (28) of Yerawada. According to the police, Shaikh was found making intimidating gestures at Prafulla Choudhary, son of murdered Bhupendra Choudhary, during the hearing of the case.
