The Talegaon Dabhade police have booked city Congress MLA, Vinayak Nimhan, and four others for allegedly cheating a farmer of Amble village in Maval taluka of 3 acres by submitting fake documents.
The police lodged the complaint after the judicial magistrate (first class) of Wadgaon Maval issued an order in this regard on Tuesday. A complaint in this regard was lodged by the farmer, Sitaram Dnyandev Ambhore, with the Wadgaon Maval court a few days ago.
The booked persons were identified as former Lonavla corporator Nitin Palekar, businessman Sunil Shelke, circle officer of Maval taluka SS Sakhare and farmer Tukaram Ambhore for cheating and forgery under the Indian Penal Code, 1860.
According to the police, Sitaram’s brother, Tukaram had allegedly included his name in the 7/12 extract of the land by a mutation entry in the land records without proper documents to support his claim. Tukaram sold the land to the trio at Rs6 lakh on October 19 last year. Sakhare allegedly did not check the documents and included the names of Nimhan, Palekar and Shelke in the 7/12 land extract.
