The Pune Zone of the Maharashtra state electricity distribution company ltd (MSEDCL) received the best zone award on Thursday in Mumbai from deputy chief minister and state energy minister, Ajit Pawar.
According to a press statement issued by the power utility, the Pune zone got maximum five awards in various categories.
Chief engineer of Pune zone, Siddharth Nagtilak, superitending engineers Sudhir Vadodekar, Dilip Padalkar, Dattatraya Koli and Ajit Mahadar received the award. The award carries a memento and Rs30,000.
Ganeshkhind circle, Mulshi division, Pune training centre as well as Pune vigilance and security department got awards in various categories.
Various zones, circles and divisions of MSEDCL have performed better in financial year 2010-11 as compared to 2009-10 in curbing distribution losses, better revenue recovery, new power connections, efficiency of transformers, personnel training, reduction in accidents, action against power theft and infrastructure development.
Directors of MSEDCL Sharad Dabhade and Maruti Deore, as well as directors of Maharashtra state electricity transmission company ltd (MSETCL), Uttam Zalte and Omprakash Empal, were present.
