The Pune Newspaper Vendors Association’s Kothrud unit organised a family get-together and exchange of Diwali gifts programme on Wednesday, during which grocery items especially for Diwali were distributed to the vendors by Chandrakant Mokate, MLA.
The event was held in the presence of a number of senior journalists and other prominent persons such as former captain of the Maharashtra Kabbadi Sangh, Kiran Bhosekar and was anchored by association members, Ramesh Borade and Santosh Mohole.
In the past, the association has undertaken social initiatives such as distribution of food to warkaris and supporting Anna Hazare’s campaign against corruption.
Those who played a key role in organising the event included Bajrang Lohar, Dnyaneshwar Yenpure, Ravindra Marne, Vijay Vale, Amar Myvar, Raja Sutar and others.
