The city president of the youth wing of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Vitthal Hanamghar (30), allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself on Wednesday night at a hotel in Shirwal, in Satara district.
According to the Satara police, Hanamghar had rented a room in a hotel in Shirwal on Monday.
The incident came to light when the hotel staff went to his room but didn’t get a response.
Later, they opened the room with a duplicate key and saw him hanging from the ceiling.
The police have found the suicide note stating that he had taken the decision due to family problems.
