Singh's father, Harshwardhan, in a written letter to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis dated April 16, stated that some anti-social elements were trying to tarnish his family's image. He said that it was harming Singh's career.

Actor Pratyusha Banerjee's boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh is likely to take legal action against few television personalities claiming that they tried to defame him. He also alleged that these personalities tried to insult the death of his girlfriend. Singh has been appearing before the Bangur Nagar police for questioning as per the directions of the Bombay High Court.

While speaking to dna on Monday, Singh said, "Right from the beginning, I have been accused for things that I haven't done. I have been projected wrongly in front of the media and in front of the people. Pratyusha's death have been portrayed as a joke by her own friends who are now putting allegations on me. If I was torturing her, then why she did not mentioned this to any of her friends? And if in case she had mentioned our relationship problems to her close ones then why they didn't came forward at that time?"

Singh added, "Not only me but Pratyusha is also being targeted by putting her dead body's photo on social media. Pratyusha's parents too, had changed their statements after getting influenced by some people. If I was hurting Pratyusha, then being her parents they could have stopped her to stay with me. I was in good relations with her parents from the very beginning. It's suspicious that after listening to someone they have changed their statements.

But this time, I shall seek a legal action against those who instigated Pratyusha's parents to change their point of view against me and tried to defame me as well as Pratyusha's image on cultural, moral, ethical and humanitarian values."

Singh's father, Harshwardhan, in a written letter to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis dated April 16, stated that some anti-social elements were trying to tarnish his family's image. He said that it was harming Singh's career.

On April 25, the HC accepted the anticipatory bail application of Singh. He is being questioned further in the case on Monday, Thursday and Saturday at Bangur Nagar police station. The police have seized the cell phones of both Singh and Pratyusha as evidence. The residence in which Pratyusha committed suicide on April 1 has been sealed by the police. The couple were staying as tenants and according to the HC, as the investigation is still on, the keys would not be handed over to the resident.
