Ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly election, the Narendra Modi government has given a lion's share to Mumbai and Maharashtra in the first Railway Budget presented by the Railway minister Sadanand Gowda. Gowda has assured Mumbaikars around 860 new trains with swanky interiors. Around 8 million passengers travel daily on Mumbai's suburban train network. Also the first dedicated bullet train project will be launched on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad.
