'Using terror, Pakistan has launched a covert war against our country. Our so-called friend's strategy is to destabilise our country. The neighbouring country is still providing safe havens for the terror outfits,' said Jasjit Singh.

Air Commodore (retd) Jasjit Singh today came down heavily on Pakistan saying the neighbouring country launched covert war against India through the use of terror, and it is providing safe heavens for terror outfits.

"Using terror, Pakistan has launched a covert war against our country. Our so-called friend's strategy is to destabilise our country. The neighbouring country is still providing safe havens for the terror outfits," said Singh.

He was delivering a memorial lecture on Mumbai terror Attack: Global, regional and national dimensions. During the lecture, he took Pakistan's name on several occasions.

With the support of China and facilitation of the United States, Pakistan has developed nuclear weapons, he added.

"Pakistan does not allow any one to pressure it (on any issue) after a certain level. It reminds others that it has a nuclear weapon. It also blackmails the US by saying that if anything goes wrong in their country and it gets destabilised, the nuclear weapon may reach the hands of terror outfits," said the Padma awardee.

After Mumbai terror attacks, the world has started looking at Pakistan in a different way and believed that it has been emanating terror, said Singh.

"We caught several terrorists earlier. But this time, the arrest of Kasab (convicted Pakistani terrorist) and his confessions drew the focus of the world on Pakistan. The incident has also led to greater sharing of Intelligence information between the countries," he said.
