NEW DELHI: The RockStars overseas stage concert, in which film star Salman Khan was to perform later this month along with Akshay Kumar and John Abraham, has been postponed to next month due to the unavailability of Salman.
The trade sources said even though he is out on bail after spending three nights in jail, cinestar Salman Khan has been unable to get permission from the court to travel abroad.
Consequently, the organisers of the shows, scheduled to begin in Calgary on April 21, have postponed them to May.
The postponement comes even as all the tickets for the show have already been sold.
The organisers of the concert are hopeful that the courts will allow Salman to travel in May.
Salman Khan was scheduled to accompany a galaxy of stars including Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Esha Deol, Preity Zinta, Fardeen Khan, Zayed Khan and Mallika Sherawat to North America at the end of this month for a world tour.
The postponement means that the organisers have to now obtain fresh dates from other stars in May and June.
Trade sources said the show, being organised by Cineyug’s Morani brothers, has Salman as its main draw and though it could still go on without his presence, it would lose much of its fizz considering the popularity of Salman abroad.
With Salman having been granted bail, the organisers had hoped that the cinestar will be able to obtain permission to participate in the show.
