Want to create awareness against drug addiction and substance abuse? Here is your chance. Start looking around for your running shoes to jog early morning on January 29 at the Bandra Bandstand to participate in ‘AARAMBH ‘17 - A Marathon Against Drug Abuse’.
As part of the Social Responsibility Forum of NMIMs’ Anil Surendra Modi School of Commerce (ASMSOC), it will be holding a 5 km social marathon at 6.30 am on January 29, 2017 at Bandstand, Bandra against drug addiction and substance abuse.
The Social Responsibility Forum states that it stands for putting all productive efforts into delivering the best. AARAMBH is the flagship event of the NMIMS’ social responsibility and this is its eighth edition. The event has already seen registration of 1,500-2,000 people. The run which is open to all can be participated in free of cost.
ASMOC feels that directly or indirectly, every being in the community is affected by it. Drugs take a tremendous toll on the society at many levels. Many people don’t understand why or how other people become addicted to drugs. Some think that those who take drugs lack moral principles or willpower, and they could stop by simply choosing to do so. However, drug addiction is a complex disease, and quitting usually takes more than just a strong will.
This year, ASMOC is also collaborating with SANKALP, an NGO that has been working towards creating awareness against drugs and substance abuse. The event will be open to people from all age group from 6.30 am at the Taj Lands End, Bandstand Bandra.
