The Central Railway on Tuesday put on trial a Siemens rake which has five coaches modified in various ways to enhance passenger intake. The 1st, 4th, 6th, 9th and 10th coaches of this rake has been given various seating changes to ensure the train has a increased passenger intake of 336 people.

In coaches 1st, 6th, 9th and 10th, the increase is by 56 passengers each. The highest passenger increase is in coach number 4 where a total of 112 extra passengers can be accommodated.

According to CR officials, based on the feedback by passengers over the next few days, a decision would be taken to accept or reject these modifications.
