Senior Shiv Sena leader Madhukar Sarpotdar passed away here today after a brief illness. He was 75.
The former Sena MP was admitted to Hinduja Hospital earlier this week after he complained of chest pain.
In 2008, Sarpotdar was convicted by a magistrate court in Mumbai for inciting communal sentiments during the 1992-93 riots in the city.
A sessions court had later granted him bail in the case.
Sarpotdar was twice elected as an MP and once as a member
of legislative assembly and also member of legislative council.
