Sena leader Madhukar Sarpotdar dies

Sarpotdar was twice elected as an MP and once as a member of legislative assembly and also member of legislative council.

Senior Shiv Sena leader Madhukar Sarpotdar passed away here today after a brief illness. He was 75.

The former Sena MP was admitted to Hinduja Hospital earlier this week after he complained of chest pain.

In 2008, Sarpotdar was convicted by a magistrate court in Mumbai for inciting communal sentiments during the 1992-93 riots in the city.

A sessions court had later granted him bail in the case.
