Senior Shiv Sena leader Manohar Joshi claimed both Sena and the MNS have the same goal, only their style is different.

At a time when Shiv Sena executive chief Uddhav Thackeray has alleged that the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is trying to divide the Marathi-speaking people, senior party leader Manohar Joshi claimed both Sena and the MNS have the same goal, only their style is different.

Interacting with the media, Joshi on Tuesday said that the Sena will not require help from any other party to win the polls if the Marathis unitedly support them.

On whether Raj Thackeray’s separation from the Sena or cousin Uddhav can be considered an example of a fragmented community, Joshi said, “If someone leaves home, it cannot be called division. Both of them are running their respective parties in their own styles. Their goal is the same. But only time will decide whether they will unite.”
He said that the Marathis have realised their mistake made during the Lok Sabha election and claimed they will not vote for MNS this time.

On the Sena-BJP alliance, he said: “The Sena can get power on its own. But it is not in our nature to leave our friend (BJP) in isolation when it is going through a bad phase. The question of accommodating MNS in the Sena-BJP alliance does not exist.”
