Plan India will organise a fund-raiser auction today to build schools for underprivileged kids.

On behalf of Plan India, Arti and Atul Kirloskar are hosting a fundraising auction, ‘There is a plan for every child: the charity auction of art & luxury’, on Sunday, from 6 pm at Hotel Taj Blue Diamond in Pune.

Interesting objects and designer creations, besides signature artworks from India’s leading artists, will go under the hammer at the auction.

Plan India currently works in 11 states in India, across 5,000 communities and has already impacted the lives of over a million children.

Talking about this initiative, Arti Kirloskar, secretary, Plan India board, said,

“Plan India is already doing a great job for the children of our country, but there is so much more that needs to be done. We sincerely hope that Puneites come forward to support the cause and make this fund-raiser a success and the event of the season.”

Some of the items that will be auctioned are Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla Ghagra ensemble, a JJ Vallaya couture creation, a Tarun Tahilani saree, a Judith Leiber-Suneet Verma clutch, a gold and navratan bespoke bag by Malini Agarwala, a limited edition coffee table and even a luxurious holiday at Gajner Palace. Paintings by eminent artists like Jaysari Burman, Sunil Padwal, FN Souza, Akbar Padamsee, Suhas Bhaulkar, Sujata Bajaj, Samir Mondal, Seema Kohli, Fawad Tamkanat and many such special items are part of the auction.

According to Bhagyashri Dengle, executive director, Plan India, “The idea of mixing all kinds of different items in the auction is to give everybody from the discerning audience a chance to contribute to a great cause, while taking home an object they desire.”

This fund-raiser aims to raise resources for developing 25 model schools so that underprivileged and marginalised children are able to attend schools and complete their education through a joyful learning process.
