Sharad Pawar undergoes surgery for oral infection

'The procedure to remove infective granuloma took almost an hour and Pawar is recovering well,' Sultan Pradhan, who performed the procedure on him said.

NCP chief and Union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar today underwent a surgical procedure to remove mouth infection at a city hospital.
    
"The procedure to remove infective granuloma took almost an hour and Pawar is recovering well," Sultan Pradhan, who performed the procedure on him said.
    
"There is no cancer and it was only an infection which had to be removed," he said.
    
Pawar, who was admitted to Breach Candy hospital in South Mumbai yesterday, would be discharged in a couple of days, the doctor said.
    
Pradhan, director of the Prince Aly Khan hospital here, has been treating Pawar for last few years.
