Four-year-old Aahana Mishra still can’t comprehend what has happened to her mother. On the other hand, her grandmother Purnima Gosawmi, 69, is inconsolable. “She is completely shattered. She is not able to accept that Anindita is no more. We can’t even understand what she is saying,” said a neighbour.
On Friday morning, relatives, neighbours, and Anindita’s colleagues gathered at her house at Blossom Housing Society, Ghansoli, to pay their respects.
Though described as “well-mannered and “good natured”, most people claimed that Anindita didn’t mingle with others. “Even though I am her neighbour, we didn’t speak much. We just greeted each other with a smile,” said another neighbour.
HS Siddiqui, joint secretary of the society, said, “They shifted here eight months ago. She always greeted others with a smile. But the family never interacted with others.”
However, rumours were rife about her husband who was conspicuously missing. “We don’t know if they are divorced. All we know is that he is in Delhi. Her father is in West Bengal and was not able to come to Mumbai,” said Anindita’s maternal uncle.
