Dignity Foundation, an NGO catering to the needs of the elderly, is organising a unique three-day ‘Retirement India Expo 2011’ at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch from September 23.

“The exhibition aims at bringing all the products, services and opportunities for people above 50 on one platform,” Lakshmi Ramamurthy, general manager, Dignity Foundation, said on Tuesday.

Senior citizens can attend the exhibition to see the products, as well as to participate in the fun and leisure activities that will be conducted for free.

Janaki Raman, MD, Vision India, the event partners for the exhibition, said,“This is one of the most innovative expos that the firm is handling. We have seen great response at the expos that we have already conducted in Chennai and Bangalore. Over 22,000 senior citizens have registered with us and we are expecting more than 50, 000 registrations by the time we finish our exhibits in Pune, Mumbai and Hyderabad.”

Shashank Paranjape, MD, Paranjape Schemes (Athashree), the title sponsors of the event, said, “This initiative has been taken up to facilitate dignified living for the elderly. They need a lot of things even after they cross the age of 50. Actually, they need specialised and customised products, which is why we have come together to bring all of them at one place with variety of products and facilities that are available for them.”
