SSC results: Satara boy tops with 97.84%

MUMBAI: Gaurav Kulkarni of Satara's New English School, Kolhapur division, stood first by securing 97.84 per cent in the SSC examinations held in Maharashtra.
 
The overall pass percentage this year stood at 86.33 per cent.
 
In Mumbai division, Pratik Ramdasi from Dombivali and Madhura Naik from Badalapur suburb stood first with 96.61 per cent.
 
Kalyani Krishna Suravanshi of Kamalbai Kanya High School, Dhule stood first in Nashik divisional board by securing 95.23 per cent, followed by Dhanashree Patil of Jalgaon's Rashtriya Kanya Shala and Shubhangi Sharad of Mahajan Shroff High School, Nandurbar with 95.07 and 94.67 per cent respectively, Pralhad Musale, divisional secretary said.
 
Among the backward classes, Pooja Krishnadas Parmar of St. Josef High School stood first with 94.46 per cent, while Shweta Badhubai Patel of Madhyamik Vidya Mandir, Nashik obtained 89.69 per cent, highest among the physically handicapped.
 
Malegaon's J A T Night High School's Tokirul Hussain Nurul Hassan secured 86.92 percent marks and stood first in night school in the division.
 
The overall pass percentage of candidates in Pune division is 87.89 per cent while Kolhapur has 85.97 per cent, Amravati 87.37 per cent, Nagpur 78.84 per cent, Latur 97.94 per cent, Nashik 88.07, Aurangabad 89.45 per cent.
 
Around 1,61,94 students were enrolled for March 08 SSC examinations out of which 1,60,837 appeared for the exams and 1,41,655 were successful, Musale added.
