Junior college admissions, as per the CAP system, would begin as soon as the SSC results are out, deputy director of education Sunil Magar told DNA.

Under the ‘Best of 5’ system, the marks obtained by students in their top five scoring subjects would be considered, not counting the subjects in which they have secured the lowest marks.

The system would help increase the overall passing percentage of SSC students. With this system, even if the student fares badly in one paper, it would not affect the overall performance.

Magar said a meeting of college principals, professors and officials of the education department was held recently, where it was decided to conduct CAP for standard XI admissions this year too.

In previous years, the CAP system has been successfully applied in Pune for the admission process.

The online admission process, especially in Mumbai region, has been facing immense problems and difficulties, delaying the admission process and leaving the students furious.
