At a rally in Gokhalenagar in Pune on Saturday, the Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar expressed regret about attending a public meeting by Suresh Kalmadi. “In 1981, I am ashamed to say I came to Pune to attend a rally by Kalmadi.”

Launching an attack at its ruling partner, the Congress, the NCP supreme said, “Their manifesto is unrealistic, as they talk about bringing in water transport in the city. The rivers of Pune do not have capacity to support water transport.”

Pawar also lashed out at the saffron alliance, while pointing to the recent scandal wherein three BJP ministers in Karnataka were forced to resign after they were caught  watching objectionable clips on their phones in the assembly.
