Sweltering heat claims Anganwadi protester's life in Mumbai

Anganwadi worker Asha Pawar was among hundreds of protesters gathered at Azad Maidan to demand a hike in remuneration.

Sweltering heat which rose dramatically here claimed life of a woman protester on Wednesday.

Anganwadi worker Asha Pawar was among hundreds of protesters gathered at Azad Maidan to demand a hike in remuneration.

However, she collapsed after suffering from a heat stroke and was rushed to the GT Hospital where she was declared dead. 

Today, Mumbai sizzled at 38 degree Celsius, while the temperature recorded at Thane was 44 degree Celsius.
