A teenager was killed and another person injured in a landslide triggered by rains here today, civic body officials said.
The landslide occurred in a slum locality in Sakinaka area of suburban Andheri. Two persons are feared trapped under the rubble, they said, adding six fire engines were rushed to the spot, where rescue operation was underway.
Two persons, Altaf Hussain Mohammed Yousuf Khan (15) and Basappa Nimbadkar (50), were rescued and rushed to civic-
run Rajawadi Hospital. Khan was declared dead on admission,
while Nimbalkar was undergoing treatment, the officials said.
Four huts were damaged in the incident, they said.
Ten people were killed in a landslide in September last year in the same area.
