Three incidents of chain-snatching took place in Pune on Sunday night.
The police said Amit Nandakumar Chaudhari (29), wife Pallavi (25) and son were returning home after attending a function. Amit is an electrician and a resident of Bibvewadi. “They were on a motorcycle. In Sahakarnagar area, suddenly two suspects arrived on a motorcycle and snatched Pallavi’s gold chain valued at Rs70,000 and fled the spot,” the police added. Amit lodged a first information report (FIR) at the local police station.
According to the Bhosari police, in another incident, a woman, Swati Dilip Kadam, snatched the gold chain of another woman after threatening her and warning her to leave her husband. According to the police, the gold chain, valued at Rs36,000, belonged to Suvarna Dambale (28), a resident of Maharashtra Housing Board in Yerawada.
Vaishali Navartom (35), a resident of Wadgoansheri, was returning home with her husband and children on a motorcycle on Sunday night , when two suspects on a motorcycle snatched her chain valued at Rs16,000 near Shastrinagar on Pune-Ahmednagar Road. A case was filed at Yerawada police station.
