Three people were killed in three separate road accidents in the city in last 72 hours. The incidents took place at Chinchwad, Vishrantwadi and Yerawada.

In the first incident, a 23-year-old motorcyclist Amol  Chavan was killed after his motorcycle hit by a speeding truck on Friday night at Chinchwad.

The police have arrested the truck driver has been identified as Sharnappa Tipanna Wadi (31) for rash and negligent driving under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code, 1860.

In the second incident, 23-year-old Sadashiv Kalje was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a speeding jeep (MH-05 G 671) on Pune-Alandi Road on Thursday night.

In the third incident, 35-year-old pillion rider Dilip Narayan Kulkarni was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a speeding water tanker in Yerawada on Friday morning.

On Friday, Sagar Bedajangam and Kulkarni were on their way to Wagholi. When they reached Yuan Chowk, their motorcycle was hit by a tanker and they sustained serious injuries. Kulkarni succumbed to his injuries at a private hospital.
