The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Tiss) is launching new post graduate programmes next year which include Masters in Women’s Studies, MA/MSc in Library and Information Management (LIM), Masters in Habitat Policies and Practice and Masters in Counselling.

“The focus is towards creating programmes which are people-centered while keeping an eye on the market,” said professor Lakshmi Lingam, dean of research & development at Tiss.

Masters in Women’s Studies will see collaboration between School of Social Work and School of Social Sciences. The programme in Habitat Policies and Practices will focus on aspects including urban planning and governance. MA/MSc in LIM will include need of infusing technology in library sciences. Part of a certificate course to be introduced at Hyderabad campus on “decentralised planning and rural development” will also be taught at Mumbai.
